HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A man who shot at park rangers in what Everglades National Park officials say was an unprovoked attack has been taken into custody.
Local 10 News learned that the man at the park was stopped by law enforcement and that’s when he began shooting at park rangers. He then fled and an active shooter search was initiated.
It is unclear why law enforcement wanted to detain the man. There were no injuries, but they are asking people to avoid the area while an investigation into the incident continues.
Suspect has been located and is in custody. Incident has been resolved. Press release to follow soon. Please continue to avoid the area.
