The City of Cypress has joined together with other cities in West Orange County to cooperate on making the voices heard in the clamor of Orange County and Southern California governance.
One visible result has been a cooperative effort to mount Town Halls to inform residents about things of importance such as COVID-19 vaccinations and efforts to re-open the economy while supporting local businesses.
First Recovery Town Hall
The first Recovery Town Hall on March 11 featured special guests Supervisor Andrew Do, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, and Dr. Clayton Chau, Director of the Orange County Healthcare Agency, who talked about the latest efforts to vaccinate Orange County Residents. Cypress Mayor Jon Peat and Seal Beach Mayor Joe Kalmick asked the guests questions submitted by West County residents.
Second Recovery Town Hall
The second Recover Town Hall on March 24 featured Congressman Alan Lowenthal (D), who represents the 47th Congressional District that stretches from Long Beach across the County border to include parts of West Orange County. Cypress Mayor Jon Peat and Los Alamitos Mayor Mark Chirco interview the Congressman about the latest vaccination information.
